About the Autor

Driven by my desire to address the questions and curiosities that often go unanswered, I create books that empower children to explore difficult or taboo subjects in an open way.

My books are characterized by their ability to tell stories through images as much as through words, making them both engaging and accessible for young readers.

As a senior lecturer at Copenhagen School of Design and Technology: EK, I combine creativity with a thoughtful, research-driven approach.

Research

When developing books that address sensitive or taboo subjects, it is essential for me to consult professionals. How do we speak with children about complex or delicate topics in a responsible and age-appropriate way?

I draw on my network of educators, teachers, and subject-matter specialists to inform, challenge, and test the work throughout the development process.

Artistic Expression

I aim for an immediate, child-friendly expression. While the style may appear spontaneous, it is anything but. I spend a significant amount of time carefully combining textures and shapes to create the perfect balance of rawness, beauty, playfulness, and sweetness.

The style is humorous and intentionally drawn from a child’s perspective. The only characters treated with full respect are the children.

About

“Why” is an independent publishing house founded and run by the author of the book series “For Those Who Ask Why.”

I have long wanted to publish my books internationally, and with the new opportunities offered by print-on-demand technology, this ambition has now become achievable.

The upcoming titles in the “For Those Who Ask Why” series are “A Book About Death” and “A Book About Politics,” originally published by the prestigious Danish publishing house Carlsen.

If my work resonates with you, I would greatly appreciate your support in sharing the message.
